Fairly new at this php stuff, so apologies if I'm missing something obvious.
Managed to get PHP4 installed and working on NT/IIS, with sessions carrying
required variables from page to page. So far so good.
Problem comes when I want to cope with those people who might have cookies
turned off; I understand that you need to take the session ID between pages
by tagging the URLs with <?php echo /"?/".SID ?>, but am having major
problems with this.
I am using FastTemplates to keep code and html apart; because all my URLs
are in the templates, I can't tag them in this manner, as the php never gets
parsed.
What would be ideal is if the windows binary could be compiled with the
-enable-trans-sid option, as stated in the docs, but I have no idea (and not
enough knowledge) to manage that.
Is it possible to get hold of another Windows binary, identical to the
standard one, but with that option enabled?
Failing that, is it possible to parse php that is held in the templates?
I've got it working with cookies, but I'd really like to try and keep the
same functionality for those people who choose not to use them.
