Inlcuded with apache are two executables: htdigest.exe and htpassword.exe
The command lines work the same way in windows as UNIX:
The command:
htpasswd -c .htpasswd <username>
creates a file called .htpasswd containing a username and encrypted
password. To add names to this file, use the command:
htpasswd .htpasswd <username>
In the directory you want to protect, a text file called .htaccess should
reside that contains the following text:
AuthType Basic
AuthName "EDB Test Area" (NOTE-Must use quotes now)
AuthUserFile /path/.htpasswdd/.htpasswd
<LIMIT GET>
require <username in .htpasswd file>
</LIMIT>
Good luck,
Chris
