What do you use for your mailing lists? Why? If you've moved your lists to something like Google Groups, why did you do so, and what did you move away from?We (DCPHP - http://groups.google.com/group/washington-dcphp-group ) switched from Mailman (hosted by Tux.org, the local non-profit for the LUGs) to Google Groups for two reasons: * Search * Findability Having a good search for the archives was nice, but being findable by the larger internet is more important. If people have ego/keyword searches set up, public Google Groups will be picked up, so we've seen a good deal of "I happened to find you guys" sort of traffic. In the month since the switch, the subscriber count shrunk by about 40% but the list traffic has almost doubled. And after looking at the missing 40%, most of them were recruiters not received messages anyway. My 0.02, keith -- D. Keith Casey, Jr. CEO, CaseySoftware, LLC http://CaseySoftware.com
