Okay, I see.
Mysteriously, when I decompile (*1) your CHM and recompile it on my PC (*2), it completely works well (of course I can search by Japanese term).
I'm using the same HTML Help version, the difference is that I'm using a German WinXP Pro SP2. My last version was built with SP1, but that shouldn't be the problem -- anyway, the current (old) Japanese CHM on pear.php.net does not look right. I've installed WinXP completely new since the last CHM files (actually the PC is new *g*), but I can't remember of anything that I've did not do the same. For example, the first compilation with the Microsoft tool failed -- the problem was that I forgot to install the east asiatic fonts. Please let me know, if you have an idea on this. Regards, Mark
