Hi,

[Japanese CHM problems]
I found the cause of this problem. If you want to make Japanese CHM appropriately, it seems that you should do the following procedure. 1. "Control Panel" -> "Date, Time, Language ..." -> "Regional and Language Options". 2. Choose "Language" Tab. 3. Check "Install files for East Asian languages" (perhaps you have already checked this option). 4. Choose "Advanced" Tab. ================================================================ = 5. "Language for non-Unicode programs" -> Select "Japanese". = ================================================================ 6. Reboot :-( 7. execute hhc.exeSeems to work, the new file is here: http://pear.markwiesemann.eu/manual/ Unfortunately, this has several side effects on my Windows. So actually it requires two reboots for each time I want to build the manual (switch lang, reboot, compile, switch back, reboot). Therefore, if we finally get a way to update the CHM regularly (@Martin: Any update on this?), it would be nice if you could build the Japanese file. BTW: Maybe you can put this short howto somewhere into peardoc's CVS? (Or into php.net/dochowto, the same should hold for the phpdoc CHM manual.) Regards, Mark
