Hi, Yes, i wish to distribute Puno under php.net / PECL, but since i read that in order to do it the software must use PhP 3.x license I worry if it would be possible.
Your extension can be under other licenses. But if you use the PHP License it is strongly recommended to distribute it through php.net (as specified in the license itself). As you already use the PHP 3.0 license, it should not be a problem to update it to 3.01 and push it into pecl cvs :)
I've posted the same question at the Openoffice development mailing list and i was told that LGPL and PHP 3.x are incompatible.
GPL and php license are incompatible. There is no issue with LGPL (we have many extension which link to lgpl libraries). We have had bundled lgpl libraries.
About a Windows Version, there is no problem to get it work, except perhaps creating the config.w32 and changing some parameters in the Makefile configured by the Oo SDK scripts, but since the functions are already available using COM i see no need for it.
Using the same code on all platform can be a good thing (OS X, unix, win32).
By the way, when building puno's module it is required to "run" the cppumaker target from the Makefile before running the "make all". Is there a way to put it as a requirement for the "all" target using a config.m4 parameter?
It should be possible using a Makefile.frag, I have to check how it is done in some other extensions. As long as there is no objection, please request an account here: http://pecl.php.net/account-request.php and here for the CVS account: http://www.php.net/cvs-php.php --Pierre
