In general:
a) Since we can
b) Since one might want to use legacy stuff written in
Perl/Python/whatever from a way better PHP app (nobody can read Perl
code and as long as you can't understand it you can't port it to PHP
*g*)
In this case: I hope to be able to offer a fast and simple sandbox where
I can give users the possibility to control an PHP application without
giving the power of PHP (they shall not change application internals
etc.) An easy example might be an discount calculation for a shopping
site ("If you by 5x product A but 2x product B you get a C for free")
which might, in some cases simpler defined by using a programming
language than anything else, but there are way more complex examples.
The question there will be how fast it is going to be, but I won't know
until everything works and I made proper benchmarks :-)
