That's exactly one of the things I have in mind.
how fast can the lua "engine" be started up?
$ php -r '$start = microtime(true); for ($i=0; $i<1000; $i++) { $l = new lua(); } echo microtime(true) - $start, "\n";' 0.26574993133545 No real benchmark but 1000 lua instances in 0.3 seconds is quite nice in my opinion.
