Hi,
I have contacted the author and copyright holder for ssdeep, Jesse
Kornblum, and he has stated that the original code he modified to make
ssdeep is a package by Andrew Tridgell called spamsum (
http://samba.org/ftp/unpacked/junkcode/spamsum/
). This original
source is dual licensed under the GPLv2 or greater and the Perl
Artistic License.
This means that Jesse could licence ssdeep under the Perl Artistic
License for the purposes of this extension. Is this a more suitable
license and would this scenario suit the PECL guidelines?
Thanks,
Simon
