ID: 17757 Updated by: Palvin@163.com Reported By: Palvin@163.com -Status: Feedback +Status: Open Bug Type: OCI8 related Operating System: RedHat 7.3+Oracle 8i/9i PHP Version: 4.2.1 New Comment: I'm sorry to tell you that the problem is exist still. When I download the file which your refer to, the report became: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lmysqlclient collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [libphp4.la] Error1. When I get rid of parameter --with-mysql=shared,/usr then the report was below: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lclntsh collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [libphp4.la] Error 1 I think the error should be cause of glibc library, because I use RedHat 7.1 have none of any error. Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-06-15 20:28:49] sniper@php.net Could you please try the latest CVS snapshot: http://snaps.php.net/php4-latest.tar.gz I think this is already fixed. Configure is just detecting wrong version. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-06-14 02:02:57] Palvin@163.com I've install RedHat 7.3+Oracle 8i/9i and want install php4.2.1, I set --with-oci8=$ORACLE_HOME and do ./config without any error, but when I run make command, it generate a error and stop compile. Error info is below: /usr/bin/ld:cannot find -lclntsh collect2:ld returned 1 exit status make[1]:*** [libphp4.la] Error 1 make[1]:leaving directory '/opt/php-4.2.1' make:*** [all-recursive] Error1. But when I strip the parameter --with-oci8, all step is normal and install is OK. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=17757&edit=1
