Hi, Alec. The fix is in commit c25a1ef8d0, which was merged a few days ago (around September 20). It
should be included in the next release in the 8.1 series. I'm not involved in cutting new
releases and don't know what the schedule for releases is.

The original case is still not fixed in 8.1.0rc2.

OK, just found and fixed a bug! After the fix, Alec's test case returns ISO-8859-1.
