ID: 19404 Updated by: moriyoshi@php.net Reported By: mv02@gmx.de Status: Closed Bug Type: mbstring related Operating System: SuSE Linux 8.0 PHP Version: 4.2.3 New Comment: I forgot to mention --disable-mbstring. If you can make your build from the source, still want to use 4.2.3, please specify --disable-mbstring in configure params, and the problem would be gone. However the case you cannot make use of mysql from within your php scripts is not directly relevant to this bug. Anyway all that I can say is this bug was really fixed... Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-11-22 11:10:01] aardmark@chakula.net Well, I guess any one interested in using phpMyAdmin just can't use php 4.2.3? that's really pathetic. I love php and so on, but at least they could *fix* the bug? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-11-22 02:52:26] mjmartin@vzavenue.net Re: 4.2.3 Bug in mbstring.internal_encoding First, the 4.3.3 version does not have a listing in the ini file to not used this encoding so if the work-around is to not use this i would sure like to know how that is done. Second, if there is a current version of php that works with mySQL i would like to know where it is. 4.2.3 does not work and the new 4.3.0 does not work either. Am i the only one that can't get php and mySQL to work or is everyone sol just like me? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-11-20 09:48:21] moriyoshi@php.net We have never issued a patch for this problem publicly by now, and will never. If you have to use the released versions, please wait until 4.3.0 is out. Otherwise you can fetch the latest stable cvs version at http://snaps.php.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-11-19 20:24:07] Jaw959@new.rr.com Is there a way to patch my Windows binary for this bug? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-11-14 22:02:55] rolyv@bigpond.com patt@vtc.pn.psu.ac.th: This is not a place to get PHPmyadmin support And has anyone got a bugfix patch for 4.2.3 to fix this bug? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The remainder of the comments for this report are too long.
