To avoid this, install autoconf-2.13 and automake-1.5. buildconf: automake version 1.6.3 (ok) buildconf: libtool version 1.4.3 (ok) [root@server php-4.3.2RC3]# [root@server php-4.3.2RC3]# ./conf.php.eko configure: error: config-file-path: invalid package name With autoconf 2-13-ga it is not better: using default Zend directory buildconf: checking installation... buildconf: autoconf version 2.13 (ok) build/buildcheck.sh: line 64: test: 5) 1: integer expression expected buildconf: automake version 1.5) 1.5 (ok) buildconf: libtool version 1.4.3 (ok) PHP 4.3.1 compiles, but make install does not work, may be because of shtool 1.6.2 (ftp.gnu.org) also cannot install under RedHat 9.
