Sarah, from Linux you must use the sybase_ functions because you are using the sybase libs with PHP from a windows machine you can use the same code just search and replace sybase_ with mssql_ and as long as you have the mssql connect to setup right it will work, which is nice. As for your $dbserver normally you setup your interfaces file like this: Server Name: SERVER1_DS Listener services aval: (hostname)server1.local.com (PORT of SQL) (shortname)server1 and you then use the SERVER1_DS for your $dbserver. I installed Sybase's ASE, and recompiled php3 & 4 with the sybase option. If you could spare the time, I was wondering if there were any further configurations you could give me the heads up on, however, since when I run the following: <?php $dbserver = '198.62.158.146'; $dbuser = 'sa'; $dbpass = 'my_pass'; $link = mssql_connect($dbserver, $dbuser, $dbpass) or die("error"); ?> "error" will be printed. I've also tried with other values for $dbserver such as the name of the machine (local & external names). Any suggestions? Thanks!
