I am sorry if my explaination was boring you. English is not my mother tongue and you gave me the feeling that I somehow did not get my point across. I thought I better make sure... > My point was that the message you sent > directed at all PHP developers basically stating that we > don't know what we are doing was offensive and that you > should have simply checked http://cvs.php.net to see who > committed the function and asked politely if there was > some reason for implementing it that way. It is nice to hear that this issue is fixed. I did not know about cvs.php.net (You did not tell me in your previous message) nor do I check what is going on there regularly. Usually I "cvs update -d" every few days and see what happens. I know very little about cvs (cvs update -d and cvs commit is about all) and I am slowly learning to handle for my PHPLIB purposes. I insisted on bringing my point across, because I sometimes have the impression that PHP is unnecessarily irregular in function names or parameter passing. For example, if you compare database interface function names and features (I had to recently for PHPLIB), you find that many similar functions have extremely different names or that there are little common patterns in handling error returns and similar things. This can be fixed in database wrappers, of course, but it should have been fixed long ago when these functions were accepted for the source tree. I tried to stop this with get_meta_tags() before 3.0.4 goes out... Kristian -- SH Online Dienst GmbH, Kristian Koehntopp, Siemenswall, 24107 Kiel, +49 431 386 436 00 Using PHP3?
