It looks like the Win32 Versin uses monikers to create a
COM object from the "ProgID.ClassID"-String, just like VBScript
in ASP.
Thats great, but my question goes further:
Is it also possible in the UNIX (at least the Linux) version ?
COM on Linux?, I hear everybody saying, but yes, its avaiable
and it supports dual interfaces and monikers and about
everything you need to call COM objects from scripting clients.
For Linux, it's even freeware (although it's not open source)
Why is the COM support only in the Win32-source tree of PHP4 ?
It would also be possible on Linux and almost all other major
Unix versions as well (although the COM runtime would cost extra
money there).
Any comments ? Any PHP4 developers listening ? ;-)
