| Using apache 1.3.12 on Red Hat Linux 6.0 with php beta 4 patch level 1
built in as a module, apachectl restart or killall | -HUP httpd causes the
apache daemon to segfault. If the apache daemon is stopped with apachectl
stop and then restarted a | few seconds later with apachectl start, this
problem is not encountered. This is not using the Redhat distribution but
| compiled from source.
This is not the case on my system. I have RedHat 6.0 (2.2.12-20) with a self
compiled Apache 1.3.12, one with the exact same php setup as you have and
one which also includes also mod_perl and all the real fancy features of
php: mysql, gd, ttf. As changes are regularly applied to httpd.conf at my
place, Apache is HUP'ed quite a lot. I haven't seen it dumping core in the
past three weeks, though.
