I have RedHat 6.0 (2.2.12-20) with a self compiled Apache 1.3.12, one with the exact same php setup as you have and one which also includes also mod_perl and all the real fancy features of php: mysql, gd, ttf. As changes are regularly applied to httpd.conf at my place, Apache is HUP'ed quite a lot. I haven't seen it dumping core in the past three weeks, though. ImeI have the same problem on a Red Hat Linux 6.0 (2.2.14) System running the Apache 1.3.12 rpm compiled from the rawhide apache-1.3.12-1.src.rpm. Anytime an kill -HUP {daemon PID} is done, the server segfaults and doesn't restart. Logrotate was killing mine once a week.
