We improved eval (and include) so that you can return a value from them (they have their own scope).
You can do:
$retval = eval("return 5";);
which is the same as:
$retval = 5;
So this is an incompatibility between version 3 and 4 but we did it in order to improve eval().
You will need to explicitly return from the function call eval() and can do it from within eval()
anymore.
