Well, nuking the Oracle HQ would be a first step.
Seriously, the AIX line above simply means "enable pthreads."
You can do this selectively in your config.m4:

You should not add libc_r or libpthreads. The above will work
with the AIX C compiler and gcc on AIX. It might be necessary
to use xlc_r/cc_r instead of xlc/cc.
