Will PHPs evolution ever be fully dependent on main languages like C/C++, Java? The functionality evolves independently I think, the syntax doesn´t at all... (what isn´t indeed as bad, high portability, wide understanding).It has little to do with dependency on C/C++/Java. PHP has its own set of language constructs that none of the mentioned languages has, and there's no problem with that. However, as far as operators go, C (and its derivatives in this area, C++ and Java) has done a good job. There's simply no need to add more operators if they're not necessary. I think the only exception made in PHP is the fairly new === and !== operators, which are quite unique to PHP due to the weak typing it employs (and that C/C++/Java do not).
