Hi,
I've noticed that there are quite a lot of questions on php.general about
Output Buffering, and people are not able to Help Themselves(tm) becourse
the ob_* functions are not yet documented.
Adding the information from php4/ext/standard/output.c to the manual
would allow a lot of people to Help Themselves(tm). Better documentation
can always be written at a later time.
I propose that the info. below goes into the manual, and I'll be willing
to write it up as XML and commit it to phpdoc if someone will tell me
where to place the file (and what to name it, as I don't seem to be able
to find an existing one to add it to). I guess it should go in something
like phpdoc/en/functions/outputbuf.xml ?
I'll ofcourse post the file for review before committing it to CVS.
Any comments are welcome :-)
void ob_start(void);
Turn on Output Buffering
void ob_end_clean(void);
Clean (erase) the output buffer, and turn off output buffering
void ob_end_flush(void);
Flush (send) the output buffer, and turn off output buffering
string ob_get_contents(void);
Return the contents of the output buffer
void ob_implicit_flush([int flag]);
Turn implicit flush on/off and is equivalent to calling flush() after
every output call
