an actual fork is one of the worst things that can happen,
but the possibility to do so is one of the concepts that
keep a lot of projects on the trak and make a positive
difference compared to closed products IMHO
how many forks do you know of? i can right now think of three,
where two of them led to better products on both branches while
on the third the 'original' project finaly accepted the 'fork-off'
as the better one and merged back into it ...
