Hmm, I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to achieve.
References are definitely causing quite a few headaches and we have to
be very careful where we actually give active support for them.
a) allow working with references with func_get_arg(s)() functions, benefit is obvious (just combine "what for do I need references as func params" and "what for do I need func_get_arg(s)")
b) BONUS: allow functions with *optional* references, what zend currently does not support
this is place where active support would make sense
