I am not surprised! :-)
Among many other recomendation, in books like "Writing Solid Code" there is
a strong recomendation to have code to check memory allocations so that
code can help tracking eventual bugs way before the product is shipped.
The sooner the better.

Oh, by all means please do it ASAP. I'm sure that will contribute to make
PHP even more solid software. I suspect that many of the causes spurious
bugs may be found with memory checking code.
