Most users don't need them. As long as somebody somewhere runs PHP
through such a tool, it is adequate. Stig has run PHP through Purify in
the past.

Well, you could add it to your version and do your debugging. I really
don't think making any fundamental memory allocation related changes in
the stable 3.0 tree is a good idea though.
