The only reasonable solution would be to avoid doing this.
Mac OS X's default file system choice is case-preserving but
case-insensitive, making the co-existence of PEAR and pear impossible.
Hence it's not just a cp issue.
Chances are that the tool has ended up as PEAR/pear or something like that.
