Yeah you are right DOM support within the PHP app
doesn't make sense. If there was a PHP IDE then
DOM support within that would be cool. A PHP
OCX with DOM support would make the development
of a Windows based IDE easier.
In Visual Basic DOM support would mean
you could do something like:
Private Sub MakePage()
Dim myPHP() as New PHPDocument
Dim MySQL as New MySQL
Dim SQL as string
myPHP(1).NewDocument
MySQL.Server = "localhost"
MySQL.Username = "me"
MySQL.Password = "pass"
MySQL.Database = "mydb"
SQL = "select * from table"
myPHP(1).Item(1).Code = "mysql_connect"
myPHP(1).Item(2).Code = "mysql_select_db"
myPHP(1).Item(3).Code = "mysql_query"
myPHP(1).GeneratePHP
End Sub
Running the above code could generate the
PHP code :
<?php
mysql_connect("localhost","me","pass");
mysql_select_db("mydb");
mysql_query("select * from table");
?>
But there would have to be a PHP OCX
or something to traverse the DOM object's
items to create the PHP.
This is the way Microsoft builds there
shit now...but I'm not sure whether the
PHP community would be clammering for this
kind of thing :)
cheers
