At least a half-dozen people have failed to build calendar.so
under RH Linux.

I traded emails with Shane, who developed the calendar
module, and he has no time to look into the problem but
suspects it's a Makefile issue.
I will send $150 to the developer who can resolve
this. I don't know if a patch is needed, or some config
change to PHP or calendar.[ch] or the Makefile or even
Apache... I suspect, in agreement with Shane, that this
isn't a huge deal, but he doesn't have time to fix it and
I don't know how. So hopefully I'll pay someone here...
The problem, in a nutshell, is that any recent versions
of PHP (3.05 or newer), Apache (1.3.3 or newer), and
RHL (5.2 or newer) cause httpd to core when functions
from Shane's calendar module are called. The error message
in Apache's log is:
/usr/local/apache-1.3.6/sbin/httpd: error in loading shared libraries:
/usr/local/apache-1.3.6/php3modules/calendar.so: undefined symbol: getParameters
