Which is an obvious tuning thing. I was sure I set MaxClients to
something less than the max_connections settings in MySQL and that is set
to 100. Somewhere along the way my MaxClients setting was lost. Having
MySQL's max_connections at 100 and setting MaxClients to 150 makes no
sense on a setup that uses mysql_pconnect calls. We simply screwed up and
didn't notice until something started banging on the server.
