This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.

Documentation for call_user_func implicitly mentions methods of calling
static methods from a class, but fails to mention that any callback is
valid, this seemed to cause confusion that methods from an object can
not be called from this function.
User was convinced this wouldn't work because of the documentation:
call_user_func(array($objinstance, 'methodname'), $arg);
