Well, I would understand a "technical editor" to be someone who edits
technical literature (books, manuals, etc.) -- and hence would apply to the
PHP "contributors" classified as "editors". The role you are referring to I
would tend to classify as "technical support" -- or, if I'm in a silly mood,
"technical wizardry"!!!
