i would like to do the same but for german language.
I made a anonymous cvs checkout on phpdoc-de so far and took some xml tools that have been mentioned
in the howto.
Now i am a little bit lost with all the stuff i have to do.
I got basic XML knowledge(learned it 2 years ago but never used it).
Just let me explain where i had problems so far :
I opened putty, connected to my unix box and did the cvs login.
Than when i tried to use cvs checkout phpdoc-de it said something like
'no CVS root specified'.
I had to figure out by myself what that means and how to solve the problem.
---
cvs -d :pserver:cvsread@cvs.php.net:/repository login
"entering password"
export CVSROOT=:pserver:cvsread@cvs.php.net:/repository
cvs checkout
cvs checkout phpdoc-de > cvscheckout.log
--
Well basicly i would like to contribute german translations (not just one or two functions)
but to do that i have to learn how to use cvs, xml...
I don´t really see the point, why is there no webclient based on a MySQL DB?
Is nobody able to set up a good cms system for the documentation?
Anyways it would be great if anyone could help me on IRC or messenger (MSN, ICQ).
I can search for others, who are interested as well and start a help-channel or something.
When i figgure out how that stuff works i will do enough to make that help valuable in either case!
tia,
Jochen
