Its good work, Lorant. Impressive, but isn't it amazing how so many of these editors are looking more and more like the interface Allaire Homesite popularized for HTML+CFML+ASP sometime back? Since Homesite was not free, along came Ultraedit, TextPad, and a bunch of others. Specifically for PHP, I have seen Ultraedit and TextEdit, TextPad all of them add specific libraries. Now "PHPEdit" also has context-sensitive help (those autocomplete pop-down thingies, what do you call them..). My personal preference: Homesite, hands-down winner. It does much more than PHP, and if you dig a bit, you can take a look at the EXTENSIONS directory and add a lot of custom context-sensitivity you need! I can also make my own command tabs so that it writes syntax and other conditional If-else stuff automatically, and it was one of the first tools that popularized color-coding in pure Internet tools. Most customizable, support for many languages, and IMHO, the best interface. None of these "freebies" have actually made me shift from Homesite.. Again, I am sure your tool (which is quite OK for a first, untested version!) will appeal to many in this forum, but I would say that Homesite is still worth every darn cent! My 0.02, Ben Disclaimer: No, I dont work for Allaire :) | -----Original Message----- | From: dbrogdon@mindspring.com [mailto:dbrogdon@mindspring.com]On Behalf | Of Darrell Brogdon | Sent: Sunday, August 27, 2000 9:46 AM | To: Lorant Toth | Cc: php-general@lists.php.net | Subject: Re: [PHP] A new freeware PHP Ide | | | Looks (and sounds) great!
