Hi,
Why you can't do the following?
1. create a signup/member/login system in PHP/MySQL to manage all users,
with integrated privileges (view, upload, etc), contact details, etc.
2. If the user has enough privileges, allow them to view pages on the site
3. If the user has enough privileges, allow them to upload files to the file
server OR directly into MySQL via web based forms, assuming the files aren't
abnormally big.
This will:
1. reduce it to a single integrated system with one uname & password
2. negate the need for users to have any FTP experience, or even have an FTP
program installed
3. allow you to integrate logging of all these systems
4. reduce administration (change "all" passwords in one spot, etc)
There's a little more work involved in this to start with, but the basics of
these tools are all "out there" on the web and in the manual, all you have
to do is understand them all individually, then slide them all together.
