Ok I used a combination of your suggestions to solve my problem:
1. I'm using HTP to send files instead of FTP (Thanks John Coggeshall it
works perfectly).
2. I'm managing my users and pass with a PHP/MySQL system (Thanks Justine
French) and I created only one user for the HTP service. Then, when any user
access to the Web server, you see a login page stored in a public directory
in the Web server where you can put your user name and password. If the user
name and password exists in the MySQL database I want that the user will be
login like the only HTP user that exists, and have this way access to the
whole content stored in a private directory protected by the directives in
the file /etc/httpd/conf/acces.conf. I don't know how to do this! At the
moment I'm doing the following: If the user exists in the MySQL database I
call the first page of the site (under a private directory) with this:
<form="xxx" action="/private/welcome.htm"... but the problem is that in the
user's browser appears the login screen of the system! How can I avoid this?
I don't know how to send the user name and password that the user entered in
my login page, to the HTP service.
Ahead of time, thank you,
Tom.
