oh, and one more thing that makes no sense. when i look at the info when i do the phpinfo() function it says that there is mysql and pgsql support in php 4.2.2 something is really screwey. -Ryan >>> Ryan Vennell<rvennell@dbu.edu> 04/09/03 01:52PM >>> the root root root problem here is that i cant load acidviewer for snort because php doesnt have mysql support. so i have re installed php 4.3.1 about 8 times with mysql support and stuff but to no avail. and after looking and looking i've finally figured out that when it trid to load 4.3.1 (the installation that was compiled with mysql) it cant load or something because the php 4.2.2 (wherever that came from) is getting in the way and loading first. i'm clueless at this stuff at this level.... -Ryan >>> Rasmus Lerdorf<rasmus@lerdorf.com> 04/09/03 02:01AM >>> > i know httpd will start php, but something else is starting php before > apache gets to it and it's causing problem. for some reason version > 4.2.2 keeps starting and i cant find a trace of 4.2.2 anywhere. every > installation/binary i can find seems to be of version 4.3.1 (which is > what i want) theres no reference to the older version in httpd.conf > anywhere. when httpd tris to start it i get an error saying that the > php4_module is already started. tomcat wouldnt be starting anything > would it? Why don't you show us the exact error message? I think you are just confused on a meaningless warning. By the way, Apache2+PHP really don't mix well yet. I strongly suggest upgrading your Apache to 1.3.27 -Rasmus
