Ok I'm new to this whole PHP programming aspect, but can't you just use a simple snipit of Javascript with it's onClick() function and force the PHP script to stop running once the onClick() fucntion is enabled?? Maybe not, and I understand if I am way off course, but like I said I am new to PHP (hence signing up for this mailing list) and just thought that sometimes you have to think "outside" the box(being php itself). Hope this helps you come up with some ideas if this one doesn't work. Best of luck.... So I am not smart enough or I am overlooking some things. I cannot use the connection_status as the script is still in the uodbc_fetch call (which might take about 30 seconds ), so the first chance I get is after odbc_fetch call, but I would like to stop the odbc_fetch call when the user reclicked the link or clicked the stop button.
