Because rewarding bad behavior encourages it. I don't know about you, but I have much better things to do than answer a few thousand questions from newbies who ask OT questions and don't even try to find the answer themselves.
You don't seem to understand exactly why the answer works, you simply know it does. It's not a 'target="_top" statment', it's setting the "target" property to "_top". It's not an <a href> tag, it's an <a> tag with a "href" property.
What "PHP version"? PHP is server-side, therefor it can't open windows, check screen resolution, print, or use the client's toaster. It can do all of those things server-side (assuming the server has an attached toaster :)), but that would be of limited value except in very specific cases.

I don't understand you guys. You obviously know the answer, but instead of answering him, or ignoring the question all together, you give the guy crap. Perhaps next time you could say, "You do this, this and that. Next time try searching google". To answer the original question, in HTML to break out of frames you put a target="_top" statement in the <A href> tag. <a href=http://blah.com target="_top"> I assume the PHP version of this is similar. Is there a way that I can redirect so that the destination page takes over the entire frame, and not just show up in the right frameset? This is not a PHP question. google > break out of frames -- Jason Wong -> Gremlins Associates -> www.gremlins.biz Open Source Software Systems Integrators * Web Design & Hosting * Internet & Intranet Applications Development * ------------------------------------------ Search the list archives before you post http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=php-general ------------------------------------------ /* poor power conditioning */
