You did point out one of my errors...when I said "The PHP version may be
similar". The header function won't do all the nifty target stuff. So now,
I've learned something. And, BTW, I can generally explain my HTML code. I
don't "just know it works".
And you're right, groups.google.com is not the only service of google, but
it is by far the best resource for finding answers to these kinds of
questions. I go there before I go to MS Technet for Windows stuff. But, it's
because of people that answer these questions that it is the best.
And, I see this as a very relevant PHP question. If you are using PHP and
you are trying to do something in the PHP code (header, for example) and PHP
won't do it, you must find an alternative. Like I said above, I didn't know
PHP couldn't handle this. But, instead of pointing out this simple fact, and
saying "PHP can't do that. Try javascript", more bandwidth was wasted with
the response, "This is not a PHP question. google > break out of frames". If
you are as concerned about the cost of your badwidth, as well as others',
ignore the question or give a short, reasonable answer.

I choose to speak English and not nerd because most people will understand
the English part, whereas non-nerds may have no idea what I'm talking about.

know it does. It's not a 'target="_top" statment', it's setting the

<a> tag with
a "href" property.

windows, check screen resolution, print, or use the client's toaster. It
can do all of those things server-side (assuming the server has an attached
toaster :)), but that would be of limited value except in very specific
cases.
