hello,
i've been trying to find a solution to my little problem;
i'm building a small website, and just for fun, i would like to build a
php-based search engine for it. now i've been searching everywhere for
standard solutions, but i seem to find only more questions like this, no
answers... (or maybe i'm reading it the wrong way.)
the SE must be able to run on both linux and w32 systems, without much
alterations...
it must be able to index both statical html/php documents, as well as
dynamically (from a mysql database) generated pages - like formatted results
from a simple db-query.
is there a way to adapt a standard solution like HTDIG for this problem, or
is it necessary to begin from scratch?
which brings me to the next problem: is there a way, based solely on php, to
read out a directory structure, and index all its files? i haven't found
anything yet...
i would appreciate any answer/comment/hint...
thanks in advance!
