Hello Nout,
I have a PHP search engine at http://www.hansanderson.com/php/. I'm not
sure that many PHPers find it useful, but I use it on dozens of sites from
small to medium with excellent results.
You can read more about it on my site, but here's a short list of
benefits:
* No database required, index system is optimized flat-file
* You can index from any source that PHP can read: databases, html, other
text, PDF, whatever.
* Search engine math syntax (like +must -not)
* Searches are fast on my relatively lightweight servers, usually taking
only a second for returning 10% of a 100,000 record index (not 100,000
bytes, 100,000 records)
* No third party software needed, it's entirely PHP
It's also free, but since I've had little feedback, I don't think the
setup is much fun. I'm more than happy to answer questions, though.
