HTH Chris PS. An 8 bit integer has the range -128 to +127 so if used as an autoincrementing field, a maximum of 127 rows would be expected.I saw somewhere that PHP can't do characters over 255 to SQL Server, is this true? If this is still true what about if you use the ODBC functions instead of the mssql functions. Mark.I can't imagine that it was PHP. what i can imagine though is that this happened to a database setup where the maximum length of a text field was set to 255 characters. This can easily be changed by modifying the field settings in the table to be able to contain more characters. I once set an ID integer to tiny in mysql, only to find out that at i could not insert more than 127 rows. (whcih only showed by giving the most weird effects when i tried)
