Ok, i've posted various things on here with this problem in the past, so here's the whole story, start to finish. Server Redhat 7, Apache 2.0.44, PHP 4.3.1 Intranet Server I'm trying to integrate this software called "SNORT" with another program called "OpenNMS" OpenNMS is installed and working great. it uses a pgsql DB and is written almost totally in java. no problems there, just telling you about it. Snort is a program that "sniffs" out possible network intrusions and logs them. I have the instructions for first installing snort (off their website) and then integrating it with OpenNMS (off the OpenNMS site). a full install of snort needs a MySQL DB which i have created and set up fine, a program called WebMin which is working great, and another program called ACID-Viewer which is the "control panel" for snort and the log viewer. However, Acidviewer needs access to MySQL and it's written totally in PHP (web-based). Apache seems to be working fine and serving up pages as it should. there is a libphp4.so file in the apache modules folder and it runs php fine. however, when i try to load the acidviewer page it gives me the wonderful not compiled with mysql support error. So i re-configure php with the mysql and then make it. about 3 minuts into the make it outputs this: ext/mysql/libmysql/my_tempnam.o: In function `my_tempnam': /etc/php/php-4.3.1/ext/mysql/libmysql/my_tempnam.c:103: the use of tempnam' is dangerous, better use mkstemp' and then it stops. is this a normal stopping point for it? if i make install it from this point it appears to install just fine... BUT: i still get the same error and the libphp4.so module in the apache modules folder is still the same file. wouldnt this have to be replaced? if i "find / -name libphp4.so" i only get that one after the install. nothing new and the modules folder that in the php install directory is empty. sounds like it didnt make properly. but i'm still newb to linux so i dont know where to go from here. i cant for my life get php4 installed with mysql..... thanks for any help you an all give me -Ryan
