Well, I'm not absolutely certain, but I don't think the following have
changed their syntax have they?:
phpinfo( );
include ( );
If there is a change, it's sure hard to find any reference to it.
One script which invokes a 'parse error expecting "(" on line 2' message is
as simple as:
<?php
phpinfo( );
?>
