1. If your server is parsing ".html" files as server-side includes,
then, yes, you can <!--#include virtual="coolthing.php3" --> (syntax for
Apache, of course).
2. If your server is not parsting .html files as server-side includes,
but does have that capability, you can probably tell the server that,
*inside this directory only*, parse .html files as server-side includes.
In Apache, I think this would be:
AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .html.
You probably don't want to do this if there are many files in the
directory as your .html file, or if there are directories beneath the
directory that contains your .html file.
3. If you explain why you don't want the filename to end in .phxxx,
other solutions might become apparent.
