Hmm.. I might get hammered for saying this but if you intend to build lots of sites, I think you should write your own and just build upon the stuff that PHP (ideally version 4 as session variables are a good thing) offers. Why? I looked at bout 10 existing classes/script collections - I didn't really liked any. In some cases the data model was crap, in other cases some crucial functions were missing and the documentation not good enough to easily adding them. And so on and on. I now have my own and it's far from perfect. But I know it inside out and it fits the way *I* see a web application. I do recommend that you look at some available stuff. (PHPLIB inspired great thoughts and I even copied some code snippets.) The risk when writing your own is that nobody can help you to get your security right. So keep an eye on what mechanisms others have used. (I re-engineered a lot of good ideas.) If you really can't be bothered, use PHPLIB: It does a lot this stuff. It has a lot of users, so is pretty secure and stable and you can find help in case you run into problems. I want to set it up and use it in several future websites.
