List what fields ur going to show at your front page, then store 'em in one table if possible. 2. Use as few tables as possible (after 2000 records, mysql refused to join five tables) 3. For high accessed page and low updates (i.e. member data, birthday), u better make 'em into static html as opposed to querying the database everytime the page is hit (At 1500 records, 7000 hits per day, the LINUX server repeatedly crashed... mysql simply can't handle that much connection) 4. If possible make sure all fields are selected rather than inputed (saves a lot of variable checking using regex... still can't seem to master those regex...) 5. Watch out for those people who inputed false data of themselves, it might escalate into a legal battle. so always log their input date and ip address... that way u might be able to trace them... 6. If ur going to allow people to upload their photo, make sure u check 'em out first... u have no idea how many people upload porn photos and movie star photos instead of their own respectable photos That's all from me... it was my first project using php and mysql, one hell of a project... but if i can do it, i'm confident so can u... safe coding!
