Hi All,
I'm a newguy to PHP but not to coding. Simple URLs are driving me buggy
right now, so I'm hoping someone can shed some light on the topic for me.
Firstly, I'm running on NT 4.0 w/IE 5.5, PHP 4.0.2 and Apache 1.3.12. I
have been expecting to express a PHP script as:
(not a working URL here...) http://host.dom/php/work_will_you.php
Unfortunately, I have been able to run a script only with some very
strange URLs;
for example: 1) http://host.dom/php/php/work_will_you.php, 2)
http://host.dom/php-bin/php/work_will_you.php
but not what I want. Jeez,
this should be so simple...
Anyway, how do I get what I want? Here are the relevant sections from the
config files...
From %WINDOWS%\php.ini
engine = On
safe_mode = On
safe_mode_exec_dir = drive:\path\dir (configured)
include_path =
doc_root = drive:\path\dir (same as safe_mode_exec_dir)
user_dir =
extension_dir = another_drv:\php
extension=php_zlib.dll
From Apache config files...
ScriptAlias /php/ "drive:/path/dir/" (same as safe_mode_exec_dir)
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
AddType application/x-httpd-php .phtml
Action application/x-httpd-php "/php/php.exe"
This configuration requires the browser URL to be:
http://host.dom/php/php/work_will_you.php
Why specify php twice?
Thanks,
Scott
