I built a script for FSN.net that emailed out new passwords to all their 90,000 users. What I did, if I recall correctly, was set the max execution time to 4 hours (set_time_limit(3600 * 4); ). Generate the new passwords. Then email 100, wait 5 seconds, email another 100...etc etc. I quit the company befor the script could be put into production but I tested it on a fake database containing 5000 users all with my email address and effectivly mail bombed myself :) All you have to worry about it overloading the outgoing sendmail buffers, and make sure your max. execution time is pretty high. -- James Atkinson ----------------------------------------------------------------- James Atkinson 100world Technical Developer 512-1529 West 6th Avenue phone: +1-604-637-8122 Vancouver, BC, V6J 1R1 fax: +1-604-742-1770 Canada email: james.atkinson@100world.com http://www.100world.com +---------------------------------------------------------------+ | This message may contain confidential and/or privileged | | information.
